WELCOME TO INNOVATION PLAZA
Innovation plaza is a newly renovated space at the SFU Surrey Campus. It is home to the Quantum Algorithms Institute and the BC Centre for Agritech Innovation.
United Power Ltd was faced with many challenges bringing connections to every corner of this space. It was fitting that some of our solutions were as innovative as the space itself.
BCIT - NW06 RADIANT HEATERS
January 2021 - March 2021
The scope of this project was to supply and install a radiant heater system to replace an existing natural gas system. Also included as part of this project, switching out the natural gas hot water tank for an electric one.
Shortly after beginning this project, BCIT asked if we could replace 7 existing electrical panels and if we could complete this new task before the end of the contract. Up to the challenge, United Power Ltd. completed this task on time!
BCIT - PARKING LOT M
February 2021 - March 2021
As BCIT expands as a post secondary education facility they have a constant need for expansion. Hence the need for more parking. In this project, United Power Ltd. supplied and installed new street lighting and some communications pathways for future use.
VCC CLASSROOM REFRESH
November 2020 - January 2021
The goal of this project was to bring a brighter updated look to Classroom 205A. What better way to accomplish this than to update the lighting. All new LED fixtures were installed. These fixtures are controlled by daylight sensors and occupancy sensors. talk about automation, these lights not only turn on when you enter the room, but they automatically dim depending on how much light is coming through the window. Now that's energy conservation!
